Community is Dead, Long Live CommuniCon: Tickets on Sale Friday

NBC has cancelled Community, but that’s not going to stop the fans: CommuniCon 3 will be held October 25-26, 2014 at the Embassy Suites in Glendale, CA. Tickets are set to go on sale later today (that’s Friday, May 16).

Much like the show, CommuniCon may be small but has a lot of heart and a lot of fun – read our brief write up of the first show. The second con was bigger, moving from Hollywood to a bigger space in Glendale. Check out our photos of CommuniCon 2:

No guests have been announced for October’s convention, but previous years have hosted creator Dan Harmon, executive producer Chris McKenna, many of the show’s writers and supporting cast members, and even an impromptu appearance by some of the main cast. Since Community fans are an active bunch, and their efforts get to take center stage, too: both the Inspector Spacetime webseries and the Journey to the Center of Hawkthorne video game project have had panels.

Ticket Sales

While CommuniCon 2 used Kickstarter to fund the event and sell tickets, the third year will return to a more traditional ticketing approach: selling tickets directly through Brown Paper Tickets. (Con organizers are requesting that attendees use the Amazon Payments option if possible.) You’ve still got the option to buy a VIP ticket, but supplies are limited and be warned they go surprisingly quickly.

Ticket levels are as follows. Note that all tickets are for both days of the con (Saturday and Sunday); there are no single-day tickets.

  • Weekend Pass: $50.00
    • Special early bird pre-sale pricing: $40.00, available until 10:00 am PST, May 18, 2014. Your basic general admission ticket, good for both days of the convention.
  • Weekend Pass PLUS: $200.00
    • Includes convention t-shirt and guaranteed front row seats for one panel.
  • VIP Weekend Pass: $500.00
    • Includes convention t-shirt, convention mug, guaranteed front row seats for all panels, and green room access.
  • Batman Weekend Pass: $1000.00
    • Includes convention t-shirt, convention mug, guaranteed front row seats for all panels, green room access, and the opportunity to co-moderate a panel.

You’ll notice that the special ticket options include guaranteed front-row seats; note that while the ticket you buy includes a pair of front row seats, the guest you bring for your second seat must have their own ticket for the weekend. That means they need to buy themselves at least a standard weekend pass.

In the market for one of the official con t-shirts or other merch but not quite ready to pony up $200? T-shirts will be available for pre-order at a later date. Other merch is available at the con.

Let us know in the comments if we’ll see you at CommuniCon 3 this fall!
